About Our Halau

Halau Hula Malani O Kapehe was formed in 2001 and operated as a Maui County Community class for 9 years. In 2010, in order to continue advancing the teaching of Hula and Hawaiian culture to a growing number of advanced students and alaka`i, as well as continuing to teach new adult and youth dancers, it formed a more traditional Halau structure. The Language of Hula

Step and lift both heels at the same time. You should not be lifting your entire body. Stay level as you quickly throw knees out so that only your legs are moving. Return to step on left foot and repeat each side.

Current Class Schedule

Keiki classes take place on Sundays at Maui Taekwondo & Hapkido Center, 300 Ohukai Road C-102, Kihei.

2:00-4:00 Keiki 2 (Enrolled after 3 months)
3:00-4:00 Keiki 1 (New Students & Beginners)

 

Adult classes take place on Fridays in Kahului.

6:00-7:15 Adult Wahine Hula
7:15-8:15 Adult Kane
