Halau Hula Malani O Kapehe was formed in 2001 and operated as a Maui County Community class for 9 years. In 2010, in order to continue advancing the teaching of Hula and Hawaiian culture to a growing number of advanced students and alaka`i, as well as continuing to teach new adult and youth dancers, it formed a more traditional Halau structure.
